Snap Kit lets developers like you integrate some of Snapchat’s best features across your platform:
Head to the Snap Kit developer portal to add your app. There, you’ll find required credentials and basic registration instructions.
We separate the settings for the development and production environments to keep everything independent and clean. There are 2 client IDs that are automatically generated when you register an app on the Snap Kit portal. You get a Production and a Development client ID.
You can use the Development client ID anytime even before an app is approved. The only limitation is that the registered app is limited to the set of users defined in the Demo Users list of your app. You can find this list at the bottom of your app's settings. Make sure to add the Snapchat usernames of all the users who will help you with development and testing.
With the Production client ID, any Snapchat user can use your registered app. You get analytical reports of how well your app performs on the portal. But for the Production client ID to work, the app must be reviewed and approved.
Please make sure you select the right platform (iOS/Android/Web) in the settings, before you start developing. For iOS/Android, make sure you add the right bundle ID/package name corresponding to the development and production environments.
The docs on this site assume you’ve finished all of these steps on the developer portal, and you’re all set to begin integrating.
Ready to get started? Choose a kit on the left to start using the features.
Once you complete integration, manage testing, usage analytics, and more in the developer portal.
We regularly update our documentation to give you everything you need for creative, easy integrations. If something’s not working for you, please report it to us here.
